DESCRIPTION: AdderLink Gold - KVM extension with remote KVM switch and local control. Like the other AdderLink products, the AdderLink Gold enables a computer or KVM switch to be controlled remotely over up to 200m (650 ft) of UTP cable. The Gold features a 'feed through' port at the local transmitter that enables a local KVM console to be used to control the computer or KVM switch connected to the local unit. The local and remote KVM consoles contend for computer access (ie they both get the same video picture) although the local console may grab exclusive access if necessary. The integral KVM switch fitted to the remote (receiver) unit enables the remote KVM console to select between locally or remotely connected computers. AdderLink Gold extenders are fitted with microphone and stereo audio support and are supplied as standard with a range of other useful features including password security. Rack mount kits are available for both local and remote units.

DESCRIPTION: The Digital Visual Interface is the next generation in display technology. Over the years computers have got more and more powerful, and are taking up less and less space. Until recently the same could not be said of display technology. The traditional CRT (Cathode Ray Tube) style of monitor is basically the same as is used in your TV. This ensured that computer monitors often took up a quarter of your deskspace! Plus the system inherently suffers from at least some level of distortion. With the latest flatscreen technology, images are transferred digitally from a DVI enabled computer. The picture is made up from thousands of discrete pixels ensuring picture perfect, very high resolution image control. The Digital Visual Interface (DVI) is the new standard for this form of image transfer. The AdderView DVI is the world's first electronic KVM switch to allow full access to this exciting new technology.

DESCRIPTION: The AdderView GEM is the ultimate in desktop KVM convenience and allows up to four computers to be controlled from a single keyboard, monitor and mouse. All connections are made at the rear and with Adder's own high specification VKVM cables, your whole installation can be completed within minutes. GEM is extremely compact and takes up very little space on your busy desktop or in a crowded server room. Available in either two or four channel models GEM is designed for ease of use and maximum compatibility with new and existing computer systems. Often low-cost is associated with low-specification, but not in the case of the GEM. Like all Adder switches GEM features SmartBoot, which intelligently allows all connected portable or desktop computers to boot as if they had their own dedicated keyboards and mice attached. It also supports PC/AT and PS/2 systems and provides high video bandwidth with low distortion at screen resolutions up to 1900 x 1440. This makes the GEM the ideal choice for use with larger monitors in CAD or DTP environments. The latest monitors equipped with DDC interfaces are also supported and this facilitates true "Plug-and-Play" compatibility. GEM offers the user many choices for channel selection. Keyboard hot-key, mouse switching, front panel operation, RS232 and optional RC1 remote control switching are all provided as standard and access to connected computers can also be restricted using the GEMs security password protection feature.

DESCRIPTION: The AdderView Matrix MP is a new generation of advanced multi-platform KVM switches that is specifically designed for use with any mixture of Sun, Mac or PC style computers. The Matrix MP integrates neatly with all these computer styles by supporting USB keyboards and mice on the controlling KVM consoles. This enables the user to choose modern style keyboards and mice that are perfectly suited to multi-platform applications. USB keyboard support is particularly useful if Sun computers are to be connected because Sun keyboards typically have more keys than the other styles and are only now easily available in USB format. Sun, USB and PS/2 style interface cables are available for connecting Sun, Mac, PC, RS/6000, Alpha and SGI computers. The unique design of the interface cables enables them to support distances up to 25m. Active 'keep alive' circuitry within the USB and Sun cables enables the MP to be powered off without disrupting computer operation. Matrix MP switches support 2 simultaneous KVM consoles and are available with 8 or 16 computer ports. All models are fitted with advanced on-screen display menus for setup and control, and support the wide range of powerful and useful options that you would expect from an advanced Adder KVM switch.

DESCRIPTION: AdderView Prism - a 'reverse KVM switch' that enables up to four consoles to access a single computer or KVM switch. Ideal for video splitting, resource sharing and KVM matrix applications. The AdderView Prism is a compact 'reverse KVM switch' that enables you to connect multiple KVM (Keyboard, Video monitor and Mouse) consoles to a single computer or KVM Switch. Connecting the Prism to a computer expands the number of KVM console connections, allowing you to control your computer from up to four different locations. The Prism is also ideal for connecting to the front end of KVM switches to increase the number of consoles that can share access to the switch. The AdderView Prism is available with either two or four ports. Both models use standard connectors throughout so you can connect your equipment easily using common inexpensive cabling. For maximum convenience, the Prism may be powered using the supplied power supply or, for many applications, may draw its power from the attached computer via the keyboard interface. Coupled together with the small and compact size, the interface powering feature ensures a neat installation. The AdderView Prism supports a high 280MHz video bandwidth and incorporates a user-selectable video boost function which provides video amplification to compensate for losses introduced by long video cables. High video resolutions up to 1600 x 1200 are supported and super high resolutions exceeding 1900 x 1440 may be achieved when short cables are used. To ensure maximum future compatibility, the Prism's firmware is flash upgradeable via the keyboard port. The Prism automatically manages access to the computer or KVM switch on a timeout basis by only allowing one KVM console to be 'active' at any one time. The video signal is distributed to all the consoles and the 'inactive' state is indicated to the user by the rhythmic flashing of the keyboard's num, caps and scroll lights. Once the Prism has detected there has been no keyboard or mouse activity from the 'active' console for the timeout period, access to the computer is made available to the other consoles. A 19 inch rack mount bracket is available to mount sixteen 2 port or eight 4 port Prisms in 4 U of rack space.

DESCRIPTION: The SmartView Multiscreen expands the horizons of computer control by adding multiple monitor support to an advanced KVM switch. The SmartView range of KVM (Keyboard, Video monitor, Mouse) switches are known for their robust and reliable operation and have been trusted by many to provide problem free control of multiple computers. The Multiscreen is a new concept in KVM switches and enables you to benefit from all the convenience of the proven SmartView switches whilst taking advantage of the multiple monitor facilities available on many modern computers. Computers fitted with multiple video cards are becoming more common as operating systems have developed to make use of the extended video "real estate" offered by multiple monitors. The increased display area enables more information to be presented to the user without reducing the resolution. The Multiscreen enables several computers equipped with these multiple video facilities to be controlled from a keyboard, mouse and an array of monitors. All the monitors and the keyboard and mouse are switched together from one computer to the next giving you full control of the wider picture. Like all SmartView switches, the Multiscreen maximises the video quality by minimising any ghosting, smudging or fading effects. Consequently, excellent video clarity is maintained even at higher screen resolutions. DDC (Display Data Channel) signalling is supported on all the SmartView's video ports making them "plug-and-play" compatible and enabling your computers' video cards to be configured for best performance. The SmartView recognises the importance of quick and easy channel switching by providing features that simplify the computer selection process. The keyboard hotkey sequences are designed for quick-fire operation and the mouse may be used to "flick through" active computers with minimal hand movements. Ease of use is further enhanced by the optional remote controller which enables a very neat installation whilst keeping you in full control.

DESCRIPTION: The SmartView Multiscreen DVI is an advanced KVM switch that enables two or four computers to be controlled by a shared keyboard, mouse and DVI (Digital Visual Interface) display system. Each computer may supply two or four DVI signals and the display system may consist of up to four separate DVI monitors or a single very high resolution DVI display being fed by several DVI signals. By supporting the Digital Video Interface the Multiscreen DVI ensures pixel perfect display accuracy and superb quality crystal clear video pictures. The ability to drive multiple monitors or feed multiple DVI links to very high resolution monitors makes the Multiscreen DVI suitable for a wide range of diverse applications from banking and security to geographic mapping and medical imaging. The SmartView Multiscreen supports standard PC style (PS/2) keyboard and mouse connections. Adder's CCUSB and CCSUN cables may be used to connect the switch to computers with USB or Sun (8 pin round) keyboard and mouse connectors. Sharing many features with the ever popular Gem range, the Multiscreen DVI is loaded with advanced keyboard and mouse support and is flash upgradeable for future compatibility. The Multiscreen DVI may be synchronised with other Adder analogue, DVI and Multiscreen products to support applications that require synchronous switching of large numbers of video channels. When you need to control and monitor multiple CPUs locally or remotely the SmartView PRO is the switch to use. With two very high performance video, keyboard and mouse control ports allowing remote or local access the SmartView PRO really sets a new standard for multiple CPU controllers. Add to this support for wheel type mice, 'on the fly' programming, password access and On Screen display and the SmartView PRO stands out from the crowd. Most KVM switches only allow one controlling keyboard, monitor and mouse to be connected as standard and can be costly, or impossible, to modify for dual location access. SmartView PRO provides dual control and monitor ports so there's no more running between your office and the server room.
